So often, our past stories shape our present, showing up in ways we don’t fully understand but deeply feel. By engaging your story of harm or heartache in the presence of a caring group, you can experience integration and new levels of healing and freedom in life.

How Does a Storywork Group Work?

In our journey together, you will learn how to write a 600-1000 word story – a painful event that took place in your childhood and has impacted your life. You will also learn how to listen, ask questions and care for others’ stories. This is an incredible skill you can take into all your relationships.

Each week two participants will read their story aloud to the group. Terri will walk with the storytellers through their stories by asking intentional questions and exploring the themes, emotions, and meaning of what is shared. Then she will invite the group in to offer their care, observations, and presence. It’s amazing what others can notice in your story that you yourself cannot see. You simply cannot engage your story alone. We need the emotional connection from others to heal and thrive. This is the power of a Storywork Group.

On another week, you will read the story again offering more understanding and insights into how this story is showing up in your present life and relationships. You may uncover lies that you truly believe, “agreements” you have made in how you live your life, your role in your family of origin, your style of relating that you use to keep safe, why you keep having the same conflicts, and more.

By sharing your story, you will experience being known and loved in new ways. For our final time together, we will bless each other with words of beauty and courage that we have seen spring forth from our stories and our time together in the group.
